Lana is a trained Radiographer and Radiation Therapist. When her husband was having some medical issues, they were relieved to receive an initial diagnosis from the physician indicating that Lana’s husband had a clear lung scan and showed no signs of cancer.
Nine months later, as Lana’s husband’s medical condition worsened, a second scan was performed and they were shocked to learn that Lana’s husband had a cancerous tumor on his lungs. As the doctor began to review treatment options, Lana noticed on the side by side view of the first and second scans that the cancerous tumor was visible on the original scan. Early detection is critically important to give the patient the best chance for recovery and to keep cancers from spreading.
